Velorickshaw comes in very handy when you can barely walk

Velorickshaw comes in very handy when you can barely walk

Having learned to respect the altitude in Cusco, Peru, we walked slowly, very slowly. We carefully lifted our luggage from the carousel and onto a cart (we don’t usually use a cart for our backpacks), from the cart to the Lhasa-bound bus. Upon arrival in Lhasa, half-a-dozen velo-rickshaws approached us, but at first I would insist on a taxi, simply because I don’t like the idea of a man pulling two or three others (strong and able) with just the force of his legs pushing on the pedals, plus we also had two 30-pound backpacks with us. At the end we ended up hiring one anyways, because they were everywhere and taxis were hard to come by.
