Varenichnaia "Pobeda", named for a classic russian car, is a couple of blocks away from our place. It is a mix between a soviet communal apartment and an american diner with lots of very recognizable memorabilia from our childhoods - from polka dot serve ware and plush carpet on the wall, to porcelain figurines and old magazines.Pobeda is our default destination for b-fast, lunch or dinner. Not only do they make good food, but they are also a very nice bunch. It's also where we're likely to run into Mark, who lives just around the corner.
