Why it was called a "clam bake" I still don't know, because they served us lobsters. I don't mean to sound disappointed, oh no! We were all full of anticipation, as huge plates of lobsters were carried past us. They were gorgeous. Large shiny and bright red all over. But when it finally arrived, the close up view wasn't so sexy. Lobster was topping off a plate of grossly overcooked exhausted and luke-warm potatoes, sausages, clams and one corn on the cob. The taste test only confirmed the visual impression and solidified my opinion of the food in this town (and New England at large.... oops, did I just say that out loud :O)

The silver lining of bad food is that it makes great entertainment. It can be played with, thrown across the table, with extra points earned for the cleavage landing, and there's still room for desert :)
