We are near the Tomb of Rabbi Nachman, which used to be a Jewish cemetery and an important Jewish pilgrimage site ever since he was buried here in 1810. During the soviet times the cemetery was build over and the grave site seemingly forgotten.
Now, over 20,000 pilgrims from all over the world come here every year for Rosh Hashanah and looks like a handful stay here throughout the year.
